Subjects of use

INDICATIONS: Sildenafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity. Sildenafil is only effective when accompanied by sexual stimulation.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
- Patients who are allergic to any ingredient of the drug.
- Sildenafil increases the hypotensive effect of acute and chronic nitrates. Therefore, sildenafil is contraindicated in patients who are taking nitric oxide supplements, organic nitrates or organic nitrites in any form, whether regularly or intermittently.
- Contraindicated in cases of loss of vision in one eye, patients with severe liver failure, low blood pressure (below 90/50 mmHg), history of stroke or myocardial infarction, genetic disorders causing retinal degeneration such as retinitis pigmentosa (a small portion of these patients have a genetic disorder of retinal phosphodiesterase)

Usage

- Jikagra tablets are taken orally.
- For adults:
+ Most patients are recommended to take a dose of 50mg as needed, taken about 1 hour before sexual intercourse.
+ Based on tolerability and medicine effects, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 100 mg or decreased to a maximum of 25 mg. The maximum recommended dose is 100 mg, the maximum number of doses is 1 time per day.
- For renal failure patients:
+ Cases of mild or moderate renal failure (creatinine clearance = 30-80 ml/min) do not require dose adjustment.
+ In cases of severe renal failure (creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min), the recommended dose is 25 mg because sildenafil clearance is reduced in these patients. - For liver failure patients: + The recommended dose is 25 mg because sildenafil clearance is reduced in these patients (e.g. cirrhosis). + For patients taking other medications: Based on the severity of interactions in patients receiving sildenafil concomitantly with ritonavir, a maximum single dose of 25 mg of sildenafil within a 48-hour period should not be exceeded. + For patients taking medication that inhibit CYP3A4 (eg. erythromycin, saquinavir, ketoconazole, itraconazole), the starting dose should be 25 mg. + To limit the risk of postural hypotension during treatment, patients should be stabilized on sympathomimetic medication before initiating therapy with sildenafil. Additionally, lower doses of sildenafil should be considered when initiating treatment. - For children: Not for use by children under 18 years old. - For the elderly: No dose adjustment is required.
